Nacional - Independiente

Paraguay Primera Division, Clausura

Nice line we have here, for a match in which I can't see past the home win. Nacional are contenders for the top spots, and have some nice chances of getting into the title fight, even though it's going to be hard, as they are currently 8 points behind leaders Guarani. But they are in good form now, coming off 3 undefeated matches, including a 1-1 draw at Cerro Porteno last week. But they are not the main reason for this bet, which is more like a bet against Independiente. They are pretty much the poorest team in the league, with just one win in the 10 games played so far in this tournament. And that win came at home, against Cerro PF, a newly promoted team (and even they are doing much better in the standings than Independiente). When playing against the better teams of the league, they just fail miserably, as they lost 0-1 at home with Cerro Porteno, while as visitors they've been beaten 1-3 by Guarani and 0-3 at Libertad. Earlier this year, they have also lost both games played against Nacional, 2-5 at home and 0-5 away. So we should see pretty much a repeat of that performance tonight, and the line/odds are very good. GL!

Guarani - Independiente

Paraguay Primera Division, Apertura

The Paraguay season starts today, and as an opening match we will have Guarani - Independiente, in what should be an entertaining game. Independiente were quite surpriseful in last season's Clausura, finishing on a decent 6th place, above teams like Rubio Nu and Guarani. This season's squad doesn't look bad either, so they can be hopefull of finishing again in the mid-high part of the table. Guarani made a complete disaster last year, ending the Clausura tournament on the 9th position, despite often playing some very entertaining matches (they had a solid attack, but one of the poorest defenses in the league). And that style should remain with them this season too, as for this opening match the coach has prepared an offensive 3-2-3-2, which is sure to put a lot of pressure on Independiente. The problem, however, is the 3-man defensive line, which even the coach rated as a big unknown. Independiente managed to pull off some surprises last season, and with Guarani's tactics they should find some spaces for counters, therefore I fancy a nice, high-scoring match. GL!

Rubio Nu - Independiente FBC

Paraguay Primera Division, Apertura

Rubio is a very strong team when playing at home, and once again, I'm surprised by the rather high odds available for them (wouldn't have expected more than 1.60, to be honest). Especially now, since they are finding some form, coming after 2 consecutive victories, at home against 3 de Febrero, and their latest being away at Olimpia, where they made a very good match, defending solidly, and striking 3 times, 2 of them coming after some excellent counter attacks. Newly promoted Independiente can't seem to find it's feet in the Primera Division, currently sitting on the 8th place (pretty decent if we look only in the table), but with the way they play they will probably finish the season lower. They have only won 2 matches so far, away at fellow promoted General Caballero, and last round at home, against defensive Tacuary. But their record against the bigger teams looks bad, playing so far against Olimpia, Nacional and Cerro Porteno, losing with all 3 of them. No recent matches between them and Rubio, but I'm surely giving a big advantage for the home side, which should be more than capable of taking all the 3 points today. GL!

Nacional - Independiente FBC

Paraguay Primera Division, Apertura

I'm having a tough time choosing who the weakest team in Paraguay Primera is, but I think Independiente deserves the vote. The Primera debutantes haven't impressed at all in their first two matches. They did manage to score 2 goals as visitors to 3 de Febrero, but also conceding 3 from a team that is usually a low scoring one puts some serious question marks. Then followed the home disaster against Olimpia, 0-3, and there Independiente showed their true face. It's going to be a tough battle to avoid relegation, as there are a lot of poor teams in the league, but I'd be surprised if Independiente manage to avoid the direct relegation. Nacional isn't finding good result either in this early-season, but their performances are hope-giving. They lost at home against Olimpia (who are looking quite good), and drew 2-2 at Guarani, coming from behind twice, and in both these matches they looked capable of something more. So I think the time has finally come... Nacional needs to finally win a match, and at home they are usually quite strong, and honestly, there is no better opponent to kick-start your campaign then Independiente. GL!
