San Jose - Corinthians

Copa Sudamericana 2013, Group Stage

Let's try to get back on track, after two horrendous weeks of Copa Libertadores, where everything that could have gone wrong, did. San Jose of Bolivia and Corinthians are making their debut in Group 5, and both of them would want a solid start. Corinthians are main contenders to win this group (and one of the favorites for the title), so it's very important to kick off their campaign on a good note. Just one thing is against them tonight, and that is the high altitude of Oruro, which stands at 3700 meters. So, the main question is, will they be able to make their quality count in such conditions? I believe they will... they are a much better team than San Jose, so if they make a good and solid start of the match, perhaps an early goal, they will make their life easier, as they can play more relaxed and save energy. In San Jose, the atmosphere isn't perfect, as they are having some financial issues, and the players are really unhappy about it. Even for Bolivian standards, I rate them as average, and we can see them failing to capitalize on their altitude advantage in recent years, and we have as an example a 0-0 draw with Nacional Asuncion in 2011. Quality should prevail here, and the odds look quite nice. GL!

Corinthians DNB @ 2.05, 5/10
Result: 1-1, VOID
